Hint of violets on the nose. Fresh and well composed. Not sure it really merits the premium over the Chorey but it’s impressively lively and well balanced. Very mild and well mannered without being wimpy. (JR)

The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Village comes from four parcels in the appellation. It has a backward nose that demands coaxing to reveal tertiary, almost gravelly scents entwined with the black fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers sweet, supple tannins. Elegant for an Aloxe-Corton, with a harmonious, lightly spiced finish. Enjoy over the next decade.
