Two-thirds from Chambolle and one-third from Nuits. Tank sample. Mid crimson. Quite firm for a Bourgogne and darker-fruited than most. Extremely fine tannins, nicely dry and rather subtle. Not as aromatic as some but all in harmony. (JH)

The 2017 Bourgogne Grand Chaillots, named after the lieu-dit , contains some lots of declassified Nuits Saint-Georges and Chambolle-Musigny. It has a well defined bouquet of blackberry and briar aromas, maybe just a bit pinched at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity and gentle grip toward the finish. Very fine.
