The Francesco Versio 2019 Barbaresco is delicate and fine, almost fragile, with iris root, rusty nail, cassis and licorice root. The wine is carefully balanced to show the intensity of the grape, yet its aromatic profile is carefully measured and contained overall. This is an exciting wine with impeccable winemaking.

The 2019 Barbaresco is another terrific wine from Francesco Versio. Hints of cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, incense, licorice, dried herbs, mint, anise and dried cherry are all beautifully lifted in this sinewy, mid-weight Barbaresco. There's tons of depth and complexity here. The 2019 will drink well with just another year or two in bottle. It's a lovely wine in every way, a wine that captures the gracious essence of Barbaresco.
