Score 91-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018

(picked on the first day of the harvest, along with the Ruchots): Bright, full red. Riper on the nose than the Feusselottes and showing more lift to its raspberry and mineral aromas. A step up in plushness and sweetness too but given shape and clarity by firm underlying stoniness. Very concentrated, dense, vivacious wine with lovely finesse of tannins and terrific rising floral length. The crop level was just 15 hectoliters per hectare, and the pH was a relatively low 3.5. These vines are now about 35 years of age, which Magnien described as "not old."
