The 2018 Château La Connivence is rock star stuff and checks in as 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc being brought up all in new barrels. A big nose of blackberries, crushed stones, tobacco, and hints of blood orange all give way to a medium to full-bodied Pomerol that has a terrific texture and mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and excellent length. It’s a sexy Pomerol to drink in its first 10-15 years or so.

This is a Pomerol I have only recently started tasting. Walnut and chocolate notes highlight the plum character, medium body and firm tannins.
