The 2019 Saint-Véran "Lieu (Inter)dit", which comes from * - ** (think of your favourite Rhône appellation) and is actually the same vineyard that makes Guffens’ Atom Heart Mother. It has a beautifully defined bouquet with mineral-drenched citrus fruit that burst from the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with gorgeous white peach and pear notes, a dab of spice and a very cohesive and persistent finish. You will finish a bottle all too soon.

Aromas of peach, orange oil and almond paste preface the 2019 Saint-Véran Lieu (Inter)dit, a medium to full-bodied, lively but open-knit wine that's elegant and nicely balanced. I suspect that this is another cuvée that I caught in a slightly reticent state and that my score may well seem conservative with a little bottle age. It's a blend based on lieu-dit Côte Rôtie along with some fruit from Terres Noires and Châtaigniers.
