The 2019 Mâcon-Pierreclos "Lieu Secret", which comes from...well, it’s a secret. Apple blossom and light peach skin aromas adorn the well-defined nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant, a little honeyed in texture with subtle spicy notes towards the ample finish. This will be difficult to resist.

As usual, the 2019 Mâcon-Pierreclos Lieu Sécret originates in the only part of lieu-dit Le Chavigne that Guffens doesn't own himself, but his neighbor refuses to sell the vineyard, consenting only to sell the grapes. Offering up aromas of pear and crisp orchard fruit, framed by a touch of toasty oak, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and muscular, with a concentrated core of ripe fruit, succulent acids and a nicely defined finish.
