The 2011 Pibran has a simple but fresh and energetic bouquet of blackberry, graphite and hints of cassis, very focused and well defined. The medium-bodied palate features black fruit framed by supple tannin and well-judged acidity. It does not possess the complexity or nuance of the best vintages, but it has a very classically lined, pencil-shaving-tinged finish that lingers nicely. Tasted at the Pibran vertical at Château Pichon-Baron.

A dark ruby/plum color as well as notes of black currants and spice are present in this medium-bodied 2011 with a modest finish. It is a competent, slightly above average quality wine to drink over the next decade.
Smoke and scent on the nose. Quite satisfying though in a minor key. Just a bit skinny on the end. (JR)
55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. 50% new oak. Sweet plums and a touch of tea leaf. Creamy too, gourmand and full of fruit and life. Rich, full and generous yet still well structured. (JH)
