The 2014 Puy-Blanquet is a soft, fruity wine to drink now and over the next handful of years, while the red cherry and plum flavors remain vibrant. There is good depth in the glass relative to the midweight structure of the year. Sweet spice and floral notes add brightness throughout.

Good direct fresh nose with some energy. Racy and round and very polished. Quite a charmer for early drinking. Tannins lurk almost unseen underneath. (JR)

The 2014 Puy-Blanquet is ripe, plummy and absolutely delicious. Aromatically pure and supple on the palate, the 2014 boasts fabulous balance and plenty of near-term appeal. A final burst of acidity on the finish gives the raspberry, rose petal and sweet spice flavors an extra kick of brightness. The acidity is a bit pronounced today. Otherwise, this is a fine showing.
