From the upper slope, 45-year-old vines. Usually RS 5–7 g/l and in this cases 6.5 g/l. At the moment quite a mild nose. And then very muscular palate with lots of tingle. Granite imposes. Needs time to add more complex mineral notes to the floral elements. Off dry, medium intensity. But elegant overall. (JR)

More smoky/mineral than the Cuvée Théo just tasted. Richer, too, though dry-tasting. With a roundness and flavours of ripe citrus and apricot to balance the bright, lively acidity. Very persistent. (JH)

The 2017 Alsace Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling is clear and fresh on the nose, with Victoria pineapple aromas. Lush and aromatic on the palate, this is a very intense, structured, refined and salty Schlossberg with a firm (tannin) structure and long finish. Tasted October 2018.
