Score 95/100 · Drink 2025-2038, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Jan 2024

The 2019 Clos de la Dioterie is a sophisticated, seductively perfumed style—brooding yet aromatic. Its concentrated flavors are pure; it remains light and elegant, with a delectable, chalky, veil-like texture residing on your tongue as the finish draws out with precision, sinew and line. This is a fine, texturally intriguing wine.

The 2019 Clos de la Dioterie is a round and ripe style that retains a sense of density and broodiness and plentiful oak-derived vanilla. The tannins are lightly edgy and abundant, coating the mouth with a firm clasp. There's always a mysterious, brooding element to the Clos de la Dioterie, which will require bottle age to come around. But it has the structural components and fresh acidity to go on and on.
