Another beautiful wine from this estate is the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet, a beautifully layered, elegant white that shines on all accounts. Crisp citrus, stone fruits, white flowers, and a liquid rock-like minerality all define the bouquet, and it’s medium-bodied, pure, and textured on the palate. It has everything in the right place, is balanced, and is going to evolve nicely for 7-8 years, if not longer.

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet opens in the glass with notes of buttered apples, white peach, blanched almonds and dried white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and precise, with bright acids, good depth and tension at the core, and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is one of Boillot's more reserved 2017s, and it will reward at least a couple of years in the cellar.
Smoky, rich – that J-M Boillot allure – with a sweet start and some very obvious spiciness. Not cheap but definitely a wine that would impress anyone. (JR)
