Score 93/100 · Drink 2010-2020, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

Cote Rotie-like with its floral, olive, bacon fat and both black and red raspberry core of fruit, the 2008 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee Persia is drinking spot on today. Medium-bodied, elegant and seamless, with fine tannin and a decidedly finesse-slanted profile, it's a gorgeous wine to enjoy over the coming 3-4 years.

A blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre that’s aged both in demi-muid and barrel, the 2008 Domaine de Fondreche Côtes du Ventoux Persia is a solid, pretty wine that exhibits blacker styled cherries and raspberry-like qualities with loads of river rock, spice, and underbrush on the nose. Very pure and clean, with an elegant, medium-bodied feel, moderate concentration, and a seamless, classy finish, this delicious Côtes du Ventoux will be versatile on the dinner table, and drink well for 4-6 years.
