The 2014 Montrachet Grand Cru has a powerful, intense bouquet with white chocolate-tinged citrus fruit, hints of nougat - quite rich and expressive for a Montrachet, though maintaining commendable precision. The palate is similarly powerful and assertive, great weight and volume in the mouth with tension thanks to the keen line of acidity, gently unfolding with a twist of sour lemon towards the finish. It needs time to develop the personality on the finish, but it will. This is another outstanding white from Nicolas Potel.

Massive nose. Round and savoury. Big and bold but nothing over the top. Wonderful texture. Saline and round with great depth. Very rich on the palate. (JR)
