Score 90+/100 · Drink 2021-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2022

The 2019 Barbera d'Alba is silky, pliant and super-expressive. Inky dark fruit, lavender, spice, licorice and mocha are all knit together. In 2019 the Barbera balances fruit intensity and nuance. I would give the 2019 a few months to soften and for the acidity to integrate.
