Leafy herbs, ripe black cherries, leather, and underbrush notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Villa Bel Air, a medium-bodied, charming, balanced 2022 that has beautiful fruit and plenty of upfront charm. Despite its accessibility today, I see no reason it shouldn't evolve for a solid decade.

A strong effort, the 2022 Villa Bel Air, a blend of 52.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 3.5% Cabernet Franc, offers up an elegant yet inviting bouquet of blueberry, wild strawberries, licorice and cassis. Moderately weighted, the palate is nicely balanced, fresh and precise, crystalline and juicy, with a long, saline finish.

The 2022 Villa Bel-Air is laced with wild cherry, tobacco, dried leaves, incense and iron. This mid-weight, aromatic Graves has plenty to recommend it. The long, sustained finish is quite attractive. Give the tannins a year or two to soften.
