Deep violet. Intensely perfumed aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, candied flowers and exotic spices; a smoky mineral accent builds as the wine opens up. Stains the palate with intense black raspberry, bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that deliver a compelling blend of power and finesse. The mineral-driven finish shows excellent tenacity and steadily mounting tannins.

Aromas of cherries and berries mingle with notions of licorice, spices and sweet soil tones to introduce the 2019 Morgon Côte du Py, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated wine that's seamless and complete, with lively acids, ripe tannins and a long, sapid finish. Serious and compelling, it's a terrific effort from Mee Godard.
