Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2007

(includes the young vines from the Clos; this is 14+% alcohol) Moderately saturated medium red. Musky red fruits and underbrush on the rather decadent nose, with distinct hints of surmaturite Sweet, fat and full, with a chocolatey flavor; this reminded me of a California pinot. Finishes with fairly fine tannins. (There were no Beaune bottlings in 2004 owing to hail; my sample of the Meursault Clos de Mazeray was a bit autumnal on the nose and diffuse on the palate.)
