The 2020 Corton Grand Cru is pretty oaky on the nose, although it seems in proportion to the fruit. Blood orange and licorice percolate through with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fleshy and crisp, and red pastilles mixed with blood orange and crushed stone. Quite complex and absorbing on the finish, this is a Corton that I would like to see age in bottle. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Corton Grand Cru, which comes from Les Combes as usual (though not on the label), has a lovely nose with brambly red fruit, black truffle and subtle pencil box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, very fine tension and an almost sorbet-fresh, quite mouth-coating finish. It will require time in bottle...but this Corton will be worth the wait.
