Score 89/100 · Drink 2025-2038, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

The 2017 Vougeot Clos du Prieuré is a little reductive out of the gates, opening in the glass with aggressive aeration to reveal aromas of red berries, plums, forest floor and smoked meats. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and elegant, with succulent acids, powdery tannins and a delicate core of fruit. My score is betting on the reduction dissipating with a bit of bottle age.
