Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2032, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

Predominantly Grenache with 14% Cinsault, the 2022 Thief in the Night expresses a lighter style of spiced red fruit, potpourri and dusty raspberries. Medium-bodied and 13.8% alcohol, the palate displays fine-grained tannins with succulent acidity. It will remain food friendly for years to come. It's a no-brainer and will deliver pleasure until early next decade. Just under 5,000 bottles were produced from 20% whole-cluster grapes.

86% 45-year-old Grenache, 14% Cinsault from the vineyard that Eben Sadie has bought from for ages. 10 months in foudres and 500-litre barrels. A generous vintage cf 21 and 23 (when you needed to pick before the March rains – very very cool, wet winter). Bright mid crimson. Herbs and dried grasses on the nose. Then sweetness and complexity on the palate. (JR)
