Score 90/100 · Drink 2013-2016, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2012

The 2008 Syrah Bramasole is nicely done in this vintage. To be sure, the 2008 doesn't quite have the exotic richness of the best years, but it nevertheless reveals lovely depth and energy. Plums, black cherries, flowers, oak, mint and licorice flesh out on the inviting, medium-bodied finish. Varietal notes don't play a huge role here, rather this is Syrah made in a juicy, fruit-driven style. The 2008 is best enjoyed over the next few years.
