Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Nov 2023

Domaine Raphet’s Chambolle-Musigny comes from 50-year-old vines. Sweet and enticing – the nose has crystallised florals, with Parma violets and candied cherry. On the palate, the fruit is brighter, wit tart acidity and a savoury edge that lends complexity. There’s a core of stewed raspberries, leading on to an iron-edged finish.

Here there is enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background. There is both slightly better richness as well as better concentration to the medium weight flavors that are finer while delivering a bit more depth on the dusty and youthfully austere finale.
