Drink 2028-2045, FINE+RARE, Nov 2023

The Clos de la Roche, along with the Bonnes-Mares, was a highlight in the line-up at Olivier Bernstein this year. From vines that average 50 years in age, the nose is beautiful – with leather, chewy blueberries and a crystalline minerality. This full-bodied Grand Cru is complete and expressive, rounded out by well-integrated oak, bright acidity and silky, graceful tannins. There is great energy and tension in the mid-palate, and an impressive finish – lasting a good minute. Such great wine! Forget about this for three or four years before enjoying it over the decades to come.
