Aromas of cherries, cassis and smoky soil tones introduce Roty's 2017 Bourgogne Rouge, a medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent wine with fine depth and concentration, its fine-grained tannins cloaked in fruit. This derives from warm, stony terroirs in Marsannay, planted with old vines.

The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge offers attractive raspberry and wild strawberry scents on the nose, which is a little earthy but well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, a little spiciness on the midpalate and a pinch of black pepper on the finish. Fine.

The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge, which is aged in used barrels, offers quite generous black cherry and bilberry aromas that unfold with confidence in the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine grain tannin. This is impressively detailed for a Bourgogne Rouge with wonderful tension all the way through to the finish. Excellent.
