Mid cherry. Much fresher and more fragrant than the previous two wines. Much more lively on the palate too, with firm, chewy depths. Rounded and firm. (JH)

Bright, dark red. Less porty on the nose than the Chaignots but still showing a note of black cherry syrup. Sweet black cherry and black raspberry flavors are complicated by a hint of licorice, with a slightly roasted quality emerging with air. Quite ripe and dense but more about fruit than minerality. Has good mid-palate stuffing to support its tannins.

The 2015 Nuits Saint George's 1er Cru les Bousselots has a very different nose compared to the Chaignots, one that is more reserved, nicely defined, perhaps more feminine in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, chalky tannin, plenty of brambly red fruit, touches of clove and even dried blood towards the composed finish that will need 3-4 years to subsume the oak.
