Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2036, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Aug 2022

From a cooler, later-ripening vineyard of the domaine to get a finer, more filigreed and precise character, the 2021 Schloss Johannisberg Bronzelack Riesling Trocken was aged in large oak casks and stainless steel and offers a pure, fresh and coolish bouquet of ripe white fruits intertwined with concentrated lemon juice aromas and discreet phenolic notes. Medium-bodied, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a dry, fresh, finely grippy and classy Johannisberg Riesling with a more saline and edgy finish compared to the supple Gelblack. Still young, but with food, it's already enjoyable, yet it surely has the capacity to develop over a decade or more. Tonic citrus freshness and discreet mango flavors on the aftertaste. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.
