The red 2019 Xérico, produced with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Viura from marl soils, was fermented, destemmed, and matured in concrete for 24 months. It's a rara avis, as the young and unoaked red in the portfolio is the last wine to be released after two years in bottle. It's ripe at 14.5% alcohol, but it doesn't show and has mellow acidity. It has an earthy profile; it comes from rustic limestone marl with abundant, chalky tannins, and in a way, it made me think of a Barolo. The longer élevage has been a blessing for this wine. A red for the table. 7,904 bottles were filled in November 2021.

The 2019 Xericó is a unique blend of 20% Tempranillo and 20% Viura from Viñaspre, Rioja Alavesa. Aged for 24 months in concrete vats, this liqueur-like wine reveals unusual peach and herb notes surrounding a plum core. Dry and taut on the palate, the rough texture is both compact and juicy, making it a pure and raw wine.
