Score 93/100 · Drink 2028-2060, Mark Squires, Aug 2017

The 2015 Vintage Port is an old-vines (40 to 60 years) blend bottled in March 2017 with 118 grams per liter of residual sugar. The winery provides its rough estimate of the field blend as follows: Touriga Nacional 25%, Touriga Franca 25%, Tinta Roriz 20%, Tinta Barroca 20%, Tinto Cão 10%. Elegant and showing fine mid-palate finesse, this is very precise and very powerful, ending with grip and intensity. All about the structure in its youth, this fresh and intense Porto should age well and come together, but it does need some age. This is not quite as easy to drink young as some 2015s, but I suspect it will come around pretty quickly. If you're going to drink it young, dive in now. It may shut down hard for awhile. There is fruit here, by the way. The fruit is gorgeous and it delivers waves of lifted flavor. This is very pretty, combining elegance, power, freshness and fruit flavor. This looks like a fine vintage for the winery. It may have significant upside potential in the cellar, too. For better results, come back around 2035 or so.
