The 2018 Beau-Site offers vivid aromas of black cherries, violets and wild strawberry on what is quite a sophisticated and well-defined bouquet. It is understated at first, but just give it 30 minutes or so and it soon finds its stride. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and a fine bead of acidity. To be frank, the palate does not quite match the promise of the nose, mainly because it clams up and pulls up a bit short on the sinewy finish. Perhaps this might close down for a couple of years, so don’t hesitate in tucking it away for 3–4 years.

The 2018 Beau-Site has a fragrant and tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, briary, crushed violets and iris flowers. This is nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, thick tannins that grip the mouth. This is a rather "brawny" Saint-Estèphe but it has charm and the 13.8% alcohol is less than others in the appellation.

Dense and tight with pretty blackberry character and hazelnut undertones. Medium-to full-bodied. Chewy and compressed tannins. Shows lovely potential.
