Quite a price! Pale ruby. Some vegy quality on the nose. Very delicate, subtle flavours that really spread across the palate – impressive, I have to admit! Long and layered. A little more vegy than the typical red burgundy but definitely singing from the same songbook. Even if hardly a new discovery! (JR)

Lovely purity of fruit here, with raspberries, sliced strawberries, oranges and hints of cinnamon stick and vanilla on the nose. Soft and creamy, medium-bodied, with a wealth of small red berry fruit dancing across the palate. Very fine tannins. Ripe and delicious. Drink now or hold.

About the producer

Bass Phillip
Bass Phillip

Bass Phillip has been quietly making world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Leongatha, South Gippsland, since the 1990s. The estate’s wines were long sold almost exclusively in Australia, meaning that the producer remains relatively little-known beyond its native shores.
