The 2005 de Pez is a bold, pleasantly rustic Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois. Still quite deep, the 2005 offers up a compelling mélange of sweet black cherry, game, licorice, earthiness, tobacco, dried herbs and menthol. There's no further upside to have, but the 2005 has aged beautifully.

An attractive cru bourgeois from St. Estèphe, the 2005 De Pez possesses loads of sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, light, sweet tannin, medium body, and a nice, earthy finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Restrained dark fruit then surprisingly soft and rounded on the palate. Well balanced and a fine fresh finish. (JH)
