Deep and complete, the 2018 Morgon opens in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, smoked meats and cracked pepper. Medium to full-bodied, supple and layered, it's seamless and beautifully balanced, with powdery tannins and succulent acids. This is another terrific wine from Julien Sunier.

Deep, vivid ruby. A highly complex bouquet evokes fresh, mineral-tinged dark berries and cherry liqueur, along with suggestions of succulent flowers and baking spices. Silky and focused in the mouth, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, cherry-cola, spicecake and rose pastille flavors that are underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Gentle tannins sneak up slowly on the impressively long finish, which shows excellent clarity and leaves behind sappy blue fruit and spice notes.
