Score 88-91/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, May 2024

The 2023 Château Haut-Maillet showed well and has outstanding potential. Offering up ample plum and darker, almost blue fruits, it has some classic Pomerol leafy herb, violet, and damp earth nuances and is medium-bodied, with good mid-palate depth and nicely integrated tannins. It's a beautiful wine. The blend is 80% Merot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

Medium-bodied, with flowers, chocolate, and sweet, red berries in the nose, and on the palate. There is freshness, softness, elegance, and refinement, with a touch of chocolate adding roundness to the red fruits in the mid-palate, and in the finish. The wine blends 90% Merlot, with 10% Cabernet Franc.

Structured and solid red with medium to full body and a deep core of fruit. Polished and refined with a lingering finish.

Aromas of minty blackberries, licorice and cherries introduce the 2023 Haut Maillet, a medium-bodied, rich and fleshy wine with a succulent core of fruit, powdery tannins and good depth and density. It's a strong effort.
