A serious, rich Pomerol that brings the goods, the 2023 Château Tour Maillet (Lagardère)offers smoky red and black fruits, graphite, new leather, and spice on the nose, with some classic chocolaty, earthy goodness. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe tannins and a great finish. Based on 100% Merlot aged in equal parts new and one-wine barrels, it's a classic Pomerol that will drink well any time over the coming 15 years or more. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2023 Tour Maillet is a very sexy wine. Inky dark fruit, lavender, violet, menthol, licorice, plum, chocolate and incense stain the palate. Even with all of its intensity, there's a good dose of freshness. A healthy dollop of Cabernet Franc (10%) adds quite a bit of character.

Lots of ripe darker fruits, spicy oak, chocolate, and some floral notes all emerge from the 2023 Château Tour Maillet (Lagardère), a richly textured, medium to full-bodied Pomerol that shines for its purity of fruit as well as overall balance. A bigger, richer wine in the vintage and beautifully balanced, it's impressive.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Tour Maillet rolls out with expressive notes of fresh blackberries and plums followed by hints of garrigue, fertile loam, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is just a touch thin and chewy with a grippy finish.
