The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru fulfills my expectations from barrel, although this actually showed better on the second day after opening. Wild strawberry and raspberry adorn the well-defined nose, while the palate manages to convey both sufficient weight and Pernand's lightness of touch. Fine sapidity on the finish. This comes recommended.

Lustrous crimson. Savoury and interesting on the nose. Lots of round, ripe fruit packed into an oaky framework. Needs a bit of time. (JR)

The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru offers well-defined dark cherries and wild strawberry on the pretty, charming nose. The palate is fresh on the entry with fine-boned tannins, well-pitched acidity and impressive clarity on the finish. A joyful Pernand-Vergelesses. Highly recommended.
