The 2023 Ségur de Cabanac comes across a little acetic on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, quite weighty, but it lacks amplitude and feels a bit blocky on the finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle.

The 2023 Ségur de Cabanac feels a bit conservative and "hemmed in" on the nose; it doesn't possess the flow of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly gritty tannins, though it shows just a bit of attenuation on the finish (possibly due to dilution).

Medium intensity rich red colour, this is a little rustic on the opening beats, with tannins that build quickly without enough depth of fruit to fully balance things out, and the overall feel is on the austere side. 30% new oak for ageing.
