A brilliant Castillon, the 2023 Domaine De L'Aurage sports a deep hue as well as ripe cassis and black raspberries intermixed with spice, roasted herbs, graphite, and spicy wood. It's medium to full-bodied, round, supple, and textured, with sweet tannins and a great finish. Give it 2-4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following decade-plus. Drink 2028-2040.

The 2023 Domaine de l'Aurage is a rich, exotic wine. Black cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and licorice are all beautifully amplified in the glass. The 100% new oak is very nicely integrated. Harvest is pushed as far back as possible, which yields an especially unctuous, flashy style.

The 2023 L'Aurage has a bright and perky bouquet with black plum and raspberry scents, a touch of cassis and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly powdery tannins. Spicy and peppery with an almost Côte-Rôtie-like finish, this is a gutsy Côte de Castillon with plenty of charm.
