The 2020 Clos René exhibits aromas of sweet cherries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, broad and charming palate. It's a gourmand, expressive Pomerol that will drink well young.

I loved the 2020 Clos René from barrel and it showed just as well from bottle, exhibiting a deep ruby/plum hue, notes of smoky red and black fruits, spice, and minty herbs, medium to full body, building tannins, and a great finish. It needs 3-4 years to resolve some tannins but should drink nicely over the following decade or more. It's another brilliant Pomerol in 2020.

The 2020 Clos René offers exquisite purity on the nose, very well defined with raspberry and wild strawberry scents, an underlying mineralité that emerges with aeration. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, maybe slightly coarse tannins. Fresh with a touch of Valrona chocolate, there is a bit of muscle on the finish, good length, a Pomerol that will repay several years' cellaring.
