Score 90/100 · Drink 2025-2032, Neal Martin, Oct 2025

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru is a little more exotic on the nose compared to its peers, with touches of lemon thyme and grapefruit and a background scent of clear honey. The palate is quite intense on the entry, with impressive weight featuring green apple and lemon, creating a mixture of slightly underripe and overripe fruit. They don't quite gel on the finish, thereby denuding this Puligny of focus. The aromatics are actually superior to the palate. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
