The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Les Porusots wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white peach, freshly baked bread, pastry cream and a touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, with lively acids, fine depth at the core and a long, saline finish, this has turned out nicely.

The 2019 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru, one of the last crus that de Montille picks, has a backward, tightly wound bouquet that is very focused and delivers lovely candied orange peel and white peach aromas, plus just a touch of grilled walnut in the background. The palate is well balanced with a smooth entry, light tropical tones and a harmonious finish, though I would have liked a little more tension and nervosité .

About the producer
Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
