The 2017 Pommard Les Rugiens-Bas 1er Cru has an elegant bouquet of brambly red fruit, potpourri and a touch of rose petal, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite saline, and lightly spiced. A little oak on the finish is still to be subsumed. Good potential. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The 2017 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, wilted rose petal and undergrowth/mulch scents that gains delineation with time. The medium-bodied palate is quite fresh and poised, with fine tannin and a very refined, lightly spiced finish that fans out wonderfully. This comes highly recommended.
