The 2015 Nairac just lacks the cohesion and complexity of its peers, delicate in personality with quince and frangipane notes unfurling with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, lightly spiced with a straightforward but focused and quite tensile honeyed finish that has density and brawn. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Mid gold with a bit of green on the edge. Racy and exciting but edgy. Long but not very sweet. Rather distinctive. (JR)

Unusual putty-like nose. Massive tension – almost too tense! Seems a bit like lime syrup. Very unusual – almost as though it had some gas dissolved in the sample. Not quite enough follow through and no real complexity. But it may well have the ingredients for eventual excitement. (JR)
