A solid step up, the Grand Vin 2019 Château Soutard is based on 67% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. It has beautiful red and blue fruits as well as loads of floral, spicy, and incense-like nuances that develop with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the vintage stye, is balanced, elegant, and a joy to drink. It will keep for 10-15 years.

The 2019 Soutard is rich and concentrated, delivering aromas of cherries, cassis, dark chocolate, cloves and spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with fine concentration, powdery tannins, lively acids and a long, mouthwatering finish, it's a supple, vibrant, rather chunky young wine from an estate in the ascendant.

The 2019 Soutard has a pleasant red currant, cranberry and loam bouquet that reveals touches of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with supple tannins, but I am seeking more complexity on the finish considering the vintage.
