The 2015 Fayat offers good immediacy and juiciness, with plenty of sweet red cherry, plum, spice and mint nuances. Deep, fleshy and open-knit, the 2015 is quite tasty, even if it is not super complex. It should be a good early drinker.

The 2015 Château Fayat is pure Merlot cropped at 42 hectoliters per hectare between September 21 and October 7. It has a dark-berry and blackcurrant pastille-scented bouquet, nicely defined, perhaps just a little static at the moment compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm, present tannins that lend this Pomerol weight. It might lack the finesse of others, although I detected grit and determination, a wine that really wants to excel in this vintage. At least there is satisfying freshness here and the mint-fresh finish leaves you with a good taste in your mouth. Let's see how this performs in bottle.
