Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The 2014 Clos Margalaine has a crisp bouquet with cigar-box infused black fruit, subtle, perhaps even showing some brettanomyces, yet it is attractive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, harmonious with a leafy finish. I suspect this will drink sooner rather than later, yet it remains thoroughly enjoyable.

Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2017

The 2014 Clos Margalaine, the second wine of Marojallia, is dark and powerful to the point of being too much for a second wine. Huge, searing tannins dominate the wine's balance, while the charm it showed as a barrel sample is nowhere to be found.

Score 90-92/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2015

The second wine of Marojallia, the 2014 Clos Margalaine shows the darker side of Margaux. Plum, lavender, menthol, new leather and smoke open up in a decidedly voluptuous, textured wine endowed with pure generosity and an inviting personality. Racy, bold and impeccably balanced, the Clos Margalaine hits all the right notes. Readers who enjoy up-front, opulent wines will find a lot to like.
