Score 17/20 · Drink 1970-2025, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2025

From HK wine importer Paulo Pong's UK cellar with a very torn label that was applied when the château called itself Ch Rausan-Ségla, not Rauzan. Bottled by négociant Cruse.  Deep, rich colour and a gamey nose that smelled more like a Châteauneuf than a red bordeaux. Very probably bolstered by Algerian or Rhône wine. Dense and sweet with a rich depth. Over time in the glass is dried out and became a little tart. Rather a nice wine so long as you are not expecting it to represent bordeaux. (JR)
