Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2011, Robert Parker, Oct 2001

This superb blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 14 months in barrique and 12 months in bottle prior to release. Its dense plum/garnet color is followed by a sweet nose of black fruits, underbrush, earth, leather, and spice. Sweet on the attack, with medium to full body, good underlying acidity, and a rich, authoritative, concentrated finish, it should age well for a decade or longer.
