The 2020 Barbaresco Gallina pours a jeweled ruby hue and has pure and inviting aromas of ripe raspberries, candied licorice, pressed roses, cedar, and nutmeg. The palate is supple and rounded, with a medium-bodied frame, it offers ripe tannins, even acidity, and a lovely, ripe, weightless finish. This lovely wine is a pleasure to drink now and will drink well over the next 12-15 years.

Much fresher nose than this producer's 2021s. Racy and transparent on the palate. Lots of fun to drink already. (JR)

The 2020 Barbaresco Gallina offers lovely immediacy and appeal. Silky tannins and lifted floral overtones give this mid-weight Barbaresco quite a bit of charm. Rose petals, cinnamon, blood orange, macerated red cherry, kirsch and mint fill out the layers nicely. This charming Barbaresco is often among the most open wines in the lineup.
