The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has a tightly wound, earthy bouquet that needs to knit together a little more during the remainder of its élevage . The palate has a pleasant sharpness on the entry. There is admirable tension here, especially for a Village Cru, though the cohesive, lightly spiced finish deserves a better set of aromatics (at least at the moment). One to watch once in bottle.

Spicy with dark berries, walnuts and ripe fruit on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, layered and flavorful. Succulent finish with lots of flavor. Tight and polished. Delicious already. Why wait?

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Scented with dark red fruit and really spicy but appears to be fruit spice not oak spice. That spice follows through on the palate, definite but fine-boned tannins giving a very upright and rather reserved wine on the palate though there's dark-fruit freshness seeping round the tannins and all in balance.
